Codicil
Sample - A codicil is simply an addition or change to your
current Will.
You may choose to write a codicil because
rewriting your will in its entirety can be time consuming and costly.
The codicil is a simple, easy document that is helpful for simple
changes, brought about by a death, a birth, a divorce, a move, or the
addition of a bequest to a charity.
As a legal document, a codicil
must adhere to the formalities of a regular Will.
Many states have different
stipulations for a valid codicil so be sure to check the
requirements of your state with your attorney. Any
attorney can write a codicil for you; it does not have to be the
person who prepared your original Will. Always be sure to
sign, date, and make copies of the codicil and attach it to your
original Will and all copies.

|
The sample Codicil is
provided for information purposes only. Individual
needs will vary, and it is strongly recommended you consult your attorney in
this regard. |

2007 Endowment Fund - Ernest Goelz Merit Scholarships
The 2007 Scholarship
award went to
Kelly Donahue.
This is
the fifth consecutive year that the Gloria Dei
Endowment Fund took the opportunity to award the
scholarship to one of our own high school
graduates and help to kick-start a college
career.
The Endowment Fund scholarship is named in the
memory of Ernie Goelz. His actions and
leadership helped our Church through a difficult
time of transition. Thanks to the many people
who have contributed to the Endowment Fund to
help support its charitable missions including
this scholarship.
We were honored again this year to be asked by an
anonymous donor to select a second candidate
to receive a scholarship. The anonymous donor
scholarship was awarded to
Greg Betz. The Endowment fund
wishes both of this year's awardees the best of
luck in college this year.
The scholarships represent a token of
appreciation for the candidate's service,
dedication and hard work here at Gloria Dei, at
their school and throughout the community. They
both demonstrated an example of discipleship for
all of us all to follow. |
