Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new school year at Gloria Dei
Preschool. This newsletter is chock full of
information, take the time to read it each
month in order to stay informed about your
child’s school.
Please note the following staff changes: We
welcome Joann Simon as our MWF & T/TH three
year old teacher in Room 108. Our current
staff member Mrs. Lynn Buss will assist Mrs.
Simon on MWF & Mrs. Dorothy Glasgow will
assist the T/TH class. We also welcome Mrs.
Tina Matricardi as the new assistant in our
CE3’s and CE 2’s classes in Room 102. Mrs.
Colleen Markegene is joining Mrs. McDermott
in our Toddler class Monday - Friday. We
look forward to these wonderful additions to
our preschool team.
Look for a monthly parent education article
in this newsletter. We use Family Friendly
Communications for Early Childhood Programs,
Early Years and a new resource from
Parenting Exchange. Please also take the
time to read the materials in the parent
packets. Review and post the school year
calendar listing closing days and special
events as well as the monthly calendar found
in the school newsletter. On the back of the
newsletter calendar you will find our “Bits
and Pieces” section. This is full of great
information as a reminder and notice of
things to come.
Keep the dates of our Welcome Coffees open
for the opportunity to meet other parents in
the school. New parents can also use this
opportunity as a Q & A time to review
curriculum, and or school procedures, as I
will be available during the coffees.
Would you please take the time to fill out
the PARENT TALENT SURVEY? Parents help in
many ways here at Gloria Dei. Having a list
of what you are “available” for helps when
the need arises during the school year.
Communication is important! At Gloria Dei
Preschool, we view our parents as “partners
in education” and feel it is important that
everyone is informed. If you have a
question, please ask. Suggestions, concerns
and praises are welcome from parents. We
enjoy hearing about the things you like, as
well as your concerns and or suggestions.
Please also take the time to communicate our
school policies to those who may be
transporting your child to and from school.
It is very important that they understand
our policies and can help in the process of
making our year a good one!
In
the event of an emergency, please contact
the office if you will be delayed in picking
up your child. We are sorry, but late fees
will be enforced for those not picking
children up in a timely fashion.
I
can be found at the main preschool entrance
or in the preschool office during drop off
and pick up times. You can also stop in,
call, or e-mail the office at anytime. I am
available to you as well as the teachers
and look forward to a wonderful school
year!
